Skating School

Skate @ Canal District Kendall offers a program for those who want to learn or improve their skating while having fun. Our instructors teach based on US Figure Skating Guidelines and are handpicked for their ability to work with the lesson's age group.

Learn to skate

Our Learn to Skate five-lesson series is designed for those who have never skated or never had formal skating lessons. We begin with how to get up and fall down on skates, then progress to the fundamentals of skating, stressing balance, glide, and proper form on the ice.

All classes meet once a week for five weeks (no classes held Dec. 24-26, or Feb. School vacation week) view the full schedule. Separate Learn to Skate series are offered for adults (12 and older) and children (age 5–11).

For the safety of our students, helmets are required for all of our skating students, and are included in the class price. You are welcome to bring your own (bike helmets work well!).

Advanced Figure skating Learn to Skate

Our Advanced Figure Skating Learn to Skate five-lesson series is designed for children age 6–11 who are able to comfortably skate forwards, backwards, stop, and crossovers.
